Chocolats du Monde is a family affair. Jonathan and Sacha invite you to discover the best of Bean-to-Bar producers. Our platform only brings together artisan chocolate makers who buy or produce cocoa beans to transform them into chocolate themselves. We ensure better traceability of the beans, remuneration of the growers and sustainability of an agricultural system but above all a great diversity of flavors to rediscover chocolate in its Bean-to-Bar form.
Our experience in the field of cocoa cultivation and our expertise through our Augusto & Malka farm, allows us to offer you a unique selection of Bean-to-Bar from all over the world while honoring the terroirs and the producers. .

Passionate about the ecology of tropical forests, I specialized in agroforestry by creating the augusto and Malka farm in 2017, producing vanilla and cocoa. To deepen my knowledge in the field, I joined the University of Geneva and the ETHZ in 2019 for a Master's degree in environmental science. I also had the chance to study in the field the dynamic agroforestry of cocoa in Ghana. We are currently working on establishing the first direct import channel for organic cocoa from agroforestry between Switzerland and São Tomé. I am deeply convinced that the cocoa industry is unsustainable and a new approach to Bean-to-Bar is needed.

Trained as a lawyer, I have always been sensitive to ethical issues related to our production systems. I had the chance to deepen the issues of sustainable and social economy during my EMBA in 2017. What I appreciate is to create lasting links with the producers that I admire and that I have learned to discover, especially through our farm in São Tomé. Chocolate is for me a noble product and I want to promote projects that have a unique taste and a lasting impact.

We select for you the best raw ethical chocolates. Our commitments are:
- A Bean-to-bar or Tree-to-Bar chocolate: Our chocolate makers or cocoa farmers obtain or produce their beans directly and transform them into chocolate. Roasting can be outsourced, as there is currently no small batch roaster for cocoa, making this step difficult.
- Winning producers: The remuneration of cocoa farmers is higher than the market price and enhances the economic and social fabric of the producing regions.
- Transparency and sustainability: The cocoa of our partners is of controlled and traceable origin. In addition, we favor sustainable agricultural systems, such as agroforestry.
- A demanding selection: Our choice of Bean-to-Bar tablets is based on sustainability, craftsmanship and ethics. But each tablet has an aromatic profile and unique character that are tested by our teams.
- A responsible activity: we offset the CO2 emitted by our activities (website and transport).
- Chocolates for all: We carry out tastings in partnership with various associations for children and people with disabilities to share with everyone our passion for the Bean-to-Bar.
Chocolats du Monde thanks Fondetec in Geneva. In October 2022, we participated in the edition of the LIDEV Factory advising and supporting our Local, Innovative, Sustainable and Economically Viable business.
In this vision, we continue our collaborations with artisans and associations in the region to promote exceptional and sustainable products.
A curious movement is emerging from all sides, made up of a cloud of start-ups which are reinventing the taste and commerce of chocolate products. Article by Xavier Comtesse.

Alongside our activity in the world of Bean-to-Bar, we are active in the field. Since 2017 we have been developing a farm in São Tomé and Príncipe. This adventure was born out of a partnership with José Luis Augusto, a Sao Tomean cocoa engineer. Our goal is to build a responsible and ethical farm based on an agroforestry model. With this experience and the obstacles faced, we have first-hand knowledge of the intricacies of the Theobroma Cacao L plant. and its influence on chocolate.
In order to meet the many environmental and social challenges posed by cocoa production, our farm is based on the principles of agroforestry. These first led us to create a farm around the complex interactions of each plant and the ecological niches they occupy. Secondly, we developed a structure that would bring cocoa farmers closer to consumers to offer greater transparency and ensure better incomes for the latter.
The founding principles of the Augusto & Malka farm:
- A system that mimics the rainforest (biomimicry)
- Zero pesticides, zero fertilizers
- An internationally oriented production for the main plantations.
- Locally-oriented production for secondary plantations.
- Remuneration of our employees above the market price
- Transparency and sharing at all levels
